More, We Need More
We don't have enough books by black Queer authors--or maybe, probably, they just don't get shelf space in bookstores, brick or ether, or reviews in the Media, print and online, or word of mouth from Queer readers. Perfectly Queer intends to help change that. With the great and good help of Books Inc.Castro, we want to bring you as many books by as many black, brown, white, yellow, red and lavender Queer writers as we can.
This month, tomorrow in fact, you can hear three Queer black authors read from their wonderful, funny, emotional, deep, over the top, understated, thought-provoking books at "Queer Is Black" at Books Inc. Castro in SF. 6:45 wine and dessert, 7pm door prizes--to help get you in the door--then watch and listen to Ajuan Mance show you their Gender Studies comic books and 1001 Black Men drawings, enjoy Brontez Purnell read you juicy bits from his novel Johnny Would You Love Me If My Dick Were Bigger and hear poet Arisa White show you her mind and heart in poems from her Hurrah's Nest collection. https://www.facebook.com/events/216649808674293/
